Clawfoot tub shower kit evokes an old world charm while offering a place to relax after a long hard day. However, there are times where there is no time for a long soak and just a shower will do. You do not have to give up your clawfoot tub to have a shower. Conversion kits are available so you can go swimming or showering. A handy homeowner can install one of these kits on a day with a few common household tools.

Make a clawfoot tub shower kit, turn off the water supply. There may have valves in the wall behind the tub, if you access wall. If not, turn off the main water supply of the house. Remove the old faucet.  Place the shower riser into the top of the crane. This pipe feeds water to the shower head. If your kit is supplied with a plurality of sections of the pipe, wrapping Teflon tape on the ends of the tube when you attach them to each other.

Make a clawfoot tub shower kit, Attach the wall escutcheon, or bracket, a short piece of tubing to the wall brace. One end of this pipe screws into the back of the shower riser tube and the other end is attached fixed to the wall. Build the oval or rectangular shower enclosure. Attach a short piece of hose to the shower wall connector. Wrap Teflon tape around the pipe where the shower head attached. Screw the shower head on the pipe until it is tight. Be careful not to over-tighten the shower head. Turn the water back on. Enter the shower and check for leaks.
